IDTV.
IDTV model TV's are capable of receiving digital terrestrial signals through the built in digital tuner and come with a common interface.
DIST.
Digital Image Scaling Technology has evolved to complement the distinctive characteristics of flat panel TV's, allowing them to produce very impressive high-definition images. This exceptional Technology incorporates both core and supporting components that work together, enhancing picture quality in all flat panel TV's to a level that must be seen to be truly appreciated.
I-P Converter and Formatter.
D.I.S.T.s core components consist of an I-P converter and formatter, which combine to scale the video signal to match the input source and display device. D.I.S.T. first detects the incoming signal and converts interlace to progressive signals directly to the formatter. After the I-P conversion process, picture information is then interpolated with the formatter relative to the number of pixels that the display panel has to offer.
Enhancer LSI "Super DigiPure".
Super DigiPure works with D.I.S.T. and adjusts contour details to better match the image. A process called in-band shoot/supplementary shoot-less finely tunes the image by reducing or emphisising the edges of an image while an original algorithm detects movement and performs horizontal vertical and diagonal adjustments separately. As a result, fast moving images such as sports programmes have clear edges, slow motion images are natural yet sharp, and small pictures are crisp and detailed, even for small lettering.
Dynamic Picture Management.
Based on histogram information compiled every second for 50 frames, Dynamic Picture Management performs complex calculations for each frame in real-time using multiple image-processing parameters to ensure optimum brightness, graduations, and colour intensity. To further optimse picture quality, this feature works simultaneously with Gamma Curve Control to enhance contrast and give the picture an added three-dimensional presence.
Colour Management.
Colour Management is designed to enhance colour's of the image, reproducing them as close as possible to the original source. Colour Management accurately adjusts specific points in the colour spectrum to recreate red, blue, green and yellow more naturally. Additionally, Colour Management checks colour dispersion direction inside the colour vector and pinpoints the skin tone portion to further enhance skin tones that tend to appear dull in dark backgrounds. As a result facial colour's appear much more vibrant and natural looking. Colour Management also controls the brightness and contrast of plasma panels by detecting the colour intensity of each picture element, and adjusting the luminance of white, to create colour's that look naturally vivid in both bright and dark images.
Dynamic Black Level Control.
To increase the contrast in both bright and dark scenes, Dynamic Black Level Control is as sensitive as the human eye in perceiving the amount of ambient light. By controlling the black levels the overall image graduation improves with lots of contrast.
Gamma Curve Control.
Working in real-time with Dynamic Picture Management, Gamma Curve Control controls the brightness of the image by recreating natural-looking contrast to add extra depth and presence when scenes are bright.
Fast Response Panel Driver.
A newly developed fast-response LCD panel driver equipped on the LT-37DM6 prevents the smearing or ghosting of fast moving pictures, and it is especially effective for captions moving in a horizontal direction.
HD-Ready TV's.
HD-Ready TV's meet industry standard criteria, including the capability to receive 1080i 50/60 Hz and 720p 50/60Hz signals, provision of HDMI and component input terminals, and having more than 720 pixels of vertical resolution.
HDMI input.
The HDMI input allows for a noise free, unaltered, or uncompressed, transmission of digital content from a compatible device with HDMI or DVI output.
100Hz Digipure Pro.
100Hz Digipure Pro is a 3rd generation DigiPure technology featured on some CRT models. It incorporates outstanding technology's that enhance image quality and remove flicker. For instance, Auto DigiPure and Auto Digital VNR work simultaneously to detect the incoming signal and correspond accordingly. For weak or faint TV signals, Auto DigiPure and Auto Digital VNR redraws the image by eliminating or adding edges to create a more natural picture. DigiPures Motion Compensation not only helps to reduce flicker, but also eliminates smearing in moving images, slow or fast. It also cuts down the jagged edges that are visible especially on the vertical and diagonal lines of an image. What's more the Digital Comb Filter separates chroma (C) and luminance (Y) signals without generating noise or distortion to further suppress signal loss for optimal image quality.
